Make sure you are compliant!

If you have pressurised systems on your site that run at 0.5 BARG or above or any pressure in the case of steam your system will need to be fitted with suitable safety devices i.e. relief valves. By law these devices must be maintained in accordance with your written scheme of examination.

Extracts from HSE a brief guide to pressure systems safety...

"If pressure equipment fails in use, it can seriously injure or kill people nearby and cause serious damage to property"

"The principal causes of incidents are poor maintenance of equipment"

"Fit suitable protective devices and ensure they function properly"

"Ensure the protective devices have been adjusted to the correct settings"

"Ensure protective devices are kept in good working order at all times"

"Ensure that, once set, protective devices cannot be altered except by an authorised person"

"The written scheme of examination must cover all protective devices"

"The written scheme must specify the nature and frequency of examinations, and include any special measures that may be needed to prepare a system for a safe examination.  The pressure system must be examined in accordance with the written scheme by a competent person"

"Have up to date and securely held records relating to their construction, repair, modification and examination"
