When the valve is removed from the plant it is mounted on the test bench to perform a pre-test and all results are recorded. A pre test is important to determine if the valve would have protected the system and can identify problems with the system and the valve. The pre-test can also offer more insight into risk based inspection frequency. After inspection and refurbishment the valve is mounted onto the test bench for final test and set. The results are all recorded on the test certificate along with the gauge calibration reference.
After Pre-test all valves are meticulously inspected, refurbished and put back to as new mechanical condition. All components are cleaned, inspected and the condition is reported on the test/inspection certification. Any parts that are not able to be refurbished to as new condition are replaced as required.
All certificates have a unique certificate number and include all valve information. The individual component condition is reported and all pre and post test results including reseat are recorded, which gives you a before and after insight into the valves performance. The certificate is dated and signed off by a competent engineer.
